I’m Lindsay: a thirty something year old Scottish outlander. I was born in Ayrshire, Scotland and now live in Cumbria, England.
Growing up I lived in a small town South of Glasgow before moving to Singapore in my early teens. I lived there for two years and was lucky enough to travel in Southeast Asia and Australasia. Returning to the UK my family settled in Northumberland where I completed secondary school and my A levels. I spent my University years studying photography at the University of Cumbria and worked as a photographer before pursuing a career in marketing.
After facing company restructures and redundancy in 2019 I decided to learn more about the FIRE movement (financial independence, retire early). I want to have full control over my finances and my life. I don’t intend to retire early but if I’m ever unhappy in a job again I want to have the financial freedom to leave.
Financial freedom is what drives me to learn about making extra money, saving money, budgeting and investing. This blog has become the place I share my journey.
I hope it will inspire you to take control of your finances and your future.
