Stake* is a trading app similar to Freetrade* and Trading 212* but designed specifically to trade US shares. By signing up using a referral link or code you can get a free share of Nike, Go-Pro or Dropbox worth up to £95! Read on to find out how to get your Stake free share.
What is Stake?
Stake is an online trading platform that allows investors and traders all over the world access to the US stock market.
How do you get a Stake free share?
1. Download the Stake app using my Stake referral link* or use my referral code ‘LINDSAYK282’ when signing up.
2. Complete the verification questions. This only takes a couple of minutes and I found the verification process to be quicker than that of both Freetrade and Trading 212.
3. Deposit $50 within 24 hours. I deposited £50 which I withdrew later but you can check the currency conversion rates on the day you make the deposit to find out what $50 is in GBP.
4. Spin the wheel and see which free share you get! You’ll get a share in either Nike, Go-Pro or Dropbox. Your free share will be revealed instantly and will be deposited into your Stake account within 3 working days. You can then withdraw your $50 deposit and the value of the free share if you’d like!
How much are Stake free share’s worth?
At the time of writing this blog post Go-Pro is worth $12.39 (£8.94), Dropbox is worth $27.39 (£19.77) and Nike is worth $132.53 (£95.65).
One you’ve received your share you’ll be able to refer your friends and earn more free shares!
Does Stake share trading cost?
Stake is commission free so you won’t pay brokerage or FX fees on every trade. Plus you won’t pay extra to buy fractional shares. There are however FX transfer fees of 0.5% and express funding fees of 0.5%. There’s also a bank processing fee of $2 for withdrawals. For a full breakdown of Stake’s pricing take a look at their fee breakdown table.
The fees I paid to get my free share were $4 (£2.89) to deposit and the same to withdraw but my free share was worth more than $8 (£5.77).
If you sign up with my link I’ll get a free share too. Let me know which one you get in the comments.
