Cashback apps are a great way to save some money on your food shopping. They are full of discounts and even freebies!
How do cashback apps work?
Before you go for the big shop simply browse all the apps and see if there’s anything you would like to buy. Most cashback apps allow you to filter by your supermarket of choice and display all the offers available there.
When you go for your shopping just purchase the items as normal (be sure they are the exact size and flavour on the cashback app listing) and keep your receipt.
When you get your purchases home all you need to do is upload the receipt that includes the specific item purchased into the relevant cashback app. Sometimes you’ll also be required to scan the barcode of the item so be sure not to throw the packaging away before you’ve requested your cashback.
Which are the best cashback apps?

Shopmium is my favourite cashback app. It allows you to toggle between in-store and online offers, filter by supermarket, save offers and scan product’s barcodes to ensure they’re the ones eligible for cashback. Shopmium also has a fantastic referral scheme which allows you to build up credit to spend in-store. The friends you refer will also get a freebie, for example a can of Pringles.
