Sunday brought with it warm sunshine and blue skies so we jumped in the car and headed for the Lake District. Keswick is one of my favourite Lake District towns and the road from the A595 to Bassenthwaite is a fantastic drive. Sunset on the Solway
Walking on the beach and watching the sunset on the Solway might just be the perfect way to spend a summers evening. After a "chippy tea" we headed down to Silloth's beach, found a log to perch on and watched the sun set behind the hills of Dumfries and Galloway. Last weekend was spent paddling, star gazing, bat watching, kayaking, drinking and laughing. Aigas Garden Open Day
On my last visit to Scotland the country estate near my parents house was holding a Garden Open Day. Twice a year the grounds of Aigas are opened to the public in partnership with Scotland's Garden Scheme to raise money for the Highland Hospice.
